Super Summer 2022 Breaks Records

Super Summer 2022 made history as a record number of nearly 350 high school students and adult counselors descended upon the campus of Cedarville University for a week of Bible study, worship, and spiritual challenge.  Super Summer began in 2003 as a ministry to students in grades seven through twelve with an emphasis upon spiritual leadership development.

The Lord moved in a powerful way throughout the week. I am thrilled to report that nineteen students prayed to receive Christ and thirty-one students made decisions to go public with their faith in believers’ baptism. Thirty students made decisions to enter full-time ministry and sixty-seven indicated a desire to serve in missions.

Super Summer is an immersive experience for students. Not only do they gather each night for worship, but they also learn throughout the day in small groups and attend breakout sessions of their choosing. Impactful sessions included “The Power of Prayer” led by Dave Earley of FBC Grove City, “Reconciling Relationships” by Patrick Stalnaker from FBC Kettering, and many others. Dean Fulks, lead pastor of Lifepoint Church in Lewis Center, served as guest speaker on the theme of “Retro Soul” taken from the book of Luke.

Students attending Super Summer spent the week in a “color school” based on the grade they had recently completed. For example, seventh grade students attended the red school and studied the basic doctrines of the Christian faith. Other schools emphasized small group topics such as finding identity in Christ, making faith your own, leading by serving, cultivating a Biblical worldview, and clarifying God’s call on your life. In addition, one school specifically helped students prepare for a calling into ministry.

Super Summer was a life-changing week for many. We are grateful to the Lord for his grace and mercy at Super Summer and I am thankful for your faithful generosity to the Cooperative Program, which makes events like this possible.
