Jordan Lee Hill Appointed to Lead SCBO Program Committee
Jordan Lee Hill has been appointed program committee chairperson of the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio (SCBO).
In her new assignment, Hill will lead committee efforts to plan and organize the schedule of events for the SCBO Annual Celebration, scheduled Nov. 4-5 at Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Fairfield.
"This year’s Annual Celebration will be doubly blessed by Jordan Lee’s leadership as she chairs the program committee,” said Ryan Strother, president of the SCBO. “Jordan Lee’s continued faithfulness to the SBC and her fresh ideas and vision will be extremely valuable as we reformat the meeting to highlight many of the wonderful ministries happening throughout our state.”
The theme of this year’s Annual Celebration is “Reach Ohio with Faithfulness.” Guest Speaker at this year’s meeting is Dr. Adam Greenway, president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. The event’s annual sermon will be preached by Stephen Owens, pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Bedford, who also serves as president of the SBC African American Fellowship in Ohio.
A native of Auburn, Ala., Hill holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from Auburn University. She is married to Peyton Hill, lead pastor of Highland Baptist Church in Grove City. They are the parents of two daughters, Harper and Elliott; and a son, Zane. The Hills are expecting their fourth child in July.
Prior to moving with her husband to Ohio, Hill worked with Jubilee and Xtreme Christian Conferences.
“There are few gatherings that excite me more than leaders within our convention coming together to inform, encourage, and sharpen one another,” Hill said. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work under Ryan Strother and help achieve the vision he has for this year's Annual Celebration. As a woman involved in and committed to the SBC, it is an honor to be invited to serve in this capacity.”
