Spiritually Flourishing in a Secular Culture

Spiritually Flourishing in a Secular Culture

The world is increasingly losing its grounding in truth. In response, the secular culture around us is rapidly creating a misguided sense of purpose and reasoning to fill this void.  This means that the average believer must now navigate through an endless minefield of false perceptions and inconsistent worldviews to deliver the hope and truth of the Good News.  Rather than just survive this era of relative truth, we want to equip and encourage you to thrive in the Great Commission to your community.  On September 22-23, First Baptist Heath is hosting a Dr. Dan DeWitt from Cedarville University for a 2 day worldview conference titled Spiritually Flourishing in a Secular Culture.

Beginning on Saturday night at 6pm, the conference kicks off with a dinner and session on "Life in the Wild - Fighting for Faith in a Fallen World."  In this session we will explore Genesis 3 and its implications for understanding the world we live in today.  Sunday at 9:30am begins the second session on "Sharing the Gospel With Skeptics" where Dr. DeWitt with share seven imperatives for sharing the gospel with those who question the idea of faith and religion.  The conference culminates in Sunday Worship at 10:45am with a sermon titled "Spiritual Flourishing in a Secular Culture."  The sermon will center on Colossians 2:1-10 in which Paul describes his struggle for these young believers and his prayer that their faith would be grounded and well ordered.

Everyone is welcome to attend any or all sessions.  Cost for the dinner is $8 per person.  Registration for the dinner is required and can be done at firstbaptistheath.com/worldview
