Congratulations to 2016 Bible Drill Winners
Students from across Ohio competed May 7 at the State Bible Drill at Reynoldsburg Baptist Church. The Children’s Drill featured 10 state winners. Haley Daulton (Parma), Nolan Hardert (New Carlisle), and Ksena Reed (Reynoldsburg) were all state winner perfect, meaning they made no mistakes during the drill.
Matthew Allen (Reynoldsburg) won the High School Drill, followed closely by Elizabeth Kastelein (Parma) in second, and Joseph Mosher (FBC Kettering) third. Victoria Rickard (Reynoldsburg) and David Imre (Parma) were also declared state winners. Elizabeth Kastelein will be representing Ohio at the National Invitational Bible Drill in Dallas TX June 17.
The Youth Drill featured four competitors, with Samuel Mosher (Kettering) finishing first, Kasi Reed second and Elizabeth Allen (both Reynoldsburg).
This year marked the first year students were recognized for competing at state for three or six years. In 2016, Scott Fannin, Brianna Rickard, Kasi Reed and Victoria Rickard (all Reynoldsburg) Matthew Bonifield (Kettering), Bradley Burk (Parma) and Nolan Hardert (New Carlisle) competed n their third State Drill. Elizabeth and Matthew Allen (Reynoldsburg) were competing in their sixth State Drill.
Verses for the 2016-2017 drills will be posted on the SCBO website this fall. If you need more information or are interested in starting Bible Drill or the Speakers’ Competition, please contact Kimberly Jackson Kubik via email at kjax@voyager.net
Congratulations to all the Bible Drillers throughout the state. Regardless of how a participant places in the drills, the more important thing is the memorization and retention of God’s word.
