Big Things Still Happening in Little Places
Annie Armstrong Testimony from FSB Camden
As Pastors, we know that special offerings are non-stop in the life of the church. Our folks in Camden have always done well when it comes to supporting Southern Baptists’ mission work. Like many of your churches, we go big at Christmas for Lottie Moon, but not so much at Easter and the Annie Armstrong Offering for North American Missions.
This year, our Youth Ministry shared each Sunday in March about featured church or ministry’s pastor and family. Then a young person would personally and specifically pray for the family and work that God is using in that part of North America. The results were overwhelming here in our church and small town.
Our goal was $6,033. (Why? Matthew 6:33 – Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness) After receiving the Victory March in both Easter services, as of the Monday following Easter, we went over $10,878. What was the difference? I believe we educated our folks better on the North American Mission Board’s work our partnership as an SBC Church. It blessed our folks to weekly see and hear stories from those we help through this special offering.
This is not shared to toot our horn, but to encourage all of you serving in our great state. God is still doing great things in both big and small places. Stay faithful.
Until he comes… we will go.
