Bible Drill and Speakers' Competition Great for Training Young People!
Kasi Reed of Reynoldsburg Baptist Church and Devonae Morgan of First Baptist Kettering (pictured to the right) represented Ohio at the National Invitational Bible Drill Tournament Friday, June 15 at Mountain Park First Baptist Church in Stone Mountain GA.
Devonae was up first, participating in the second of two preliminary high school drills. Those who posted a perfect score in the preliminary drills moved on to the final drill.
Kasi competed against 11 others in the youth drill. To determine the final winner, the top two scorers, who were tied after the first drill, participated in a drill-off.
Although neither young lady was declared the winner of their respective drill, both did a phenomenal job by honoring God with their best efforts.
An awards dinner followed Friday’s competition. Each participant received a trophy, with additional trophies awarded for first and second place in each category. Medals for perfect scores were also distributed.
The Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions hosted this year’s get-acquainted party Thursday night. Weather forced dinner to be held inside, followed by “Minute to Win It” games. Later, a large group went to Stone Mountain to watch the laser show.
Bible Drill and Speakers’ Competition are great ways for young people to memorize God’s word and become comfortable speaking to others about Him. Cash prizes are awarded by the state each year to the top finishers in Youth Bible Drill, High School Drill and Speakers’ Competition.
