Ladies Fall Retreat & Mission Celebration was a huge success!

Ladies Fall Retreat & Mission Celebration was a huge success!

Ladies from all over the State gathered at Seneca Lake Baptist Assembly in September for a wonderful time of sweet fellowship.  We were all challenged to be strong and courageous as we serve our Lord, by all means possible.

The mission project this year was the A.R.M. Back Pack Ministry by N.A.M.B. and the ladies brought 55 filled back packs with additional supplies that will be used to help those in need.  Bill Barker of NAMB also joined us and explained how these back packs will be used in impoverished areas during the upcoming holidays.

Sweet worship by the Praise Team of Highland Baptist Church in Grove City, was led by Ellie Thomas and accompanied by Charlie Tatman.

Our own  SCBO, MSM Resource Team Leader and Ohio WMU Executive Director , Duane Floro and Susan Bryant, Kentucky WMU President attended and Susan, with her warm Kentucky accent, encouraged us through scripture and stories and was just a delight to be around and talk to.

WMU held their annual business meeting Friday evening and  Sue Stickel was re-elected as President, Jean DiFillipo as Vice President, Jennie Ferrel as Secretary and Sheila Mills was elected as the new Adult Consultant for next year.

Breakout Sessions included: “Breaking the chains of food bondage”, “REFIT Revolution”,  “Troubles or Trials”, “Are you In”?, “By all Means, Finish Well the Story of Your Life”, WMU Ministries, Back Pack Ministry” and “Card making” for Missionaries were held and all very well attended.  Jean DiFilippo held a wonderful Pastors’ Wives Tea to honor all of our Pastors’ wives that were present and it is always a huge hit with the Pastors’ wives present.

Tim Cremean from LifeWay is always a welcomed site and Barb Lanctot with Operation Christmas Child.  An offering was taken for the Joan White Scholarship Fund to be used by any woman that is going on her first mission trip or first international trip.  She can apply and receive funding to help with her mission trip expenses.

We ended Friday evening in the Chapel watching the new “Mully” movie and enjoying some refreshments.

The staff at Seneca Lake are so friendly and helpful and the food and service was outstanding.  I hope you don’t miss next year’s retreat.  Watch for details on our website so that you and your ladies can come and be a part of this special event.
