A Letter from Church Planting Resource Group Leader

 CHURCH PLANTING IN OHIO...THANK YOU!

Friends and co-workers in Ohio,

I want to take this time to say thank you!  Thanks to all of the church planters that have stepped out in faith to become involved in a much needed ministry in Ohio.  Church planting is not easy.  It takes lots of work, faith, and sacrifice.  I also want to say thank you to all of our Associational Missionaries and Strategists who have seen the vision, sharpened their focus and skills, and led out in the facilitating of many new church plants over the last several years.  I also want to say thank you to all of the sponsor pastors who have seen the need and have challenged their congregations to become involved in sponsoring new church planters.  I must say thank you not only to the other members of the Church Planting Resource Group here at the State Convention, but also to all other members of the SCBO staff.  This is truly a team effort where everyone is involved to a significant degree.

Our Lord has done some pretty amazing things in the last several years in the area of Church Planting here in the Buckeye state.  After a thorough (and yes, at times frustrating) count, there are now 195 new congregations in our state convention!  I can only say that God has put His hand on Church Planting and I hope He does not soon remove it.

As we prepare for 2010 and beyond, we will continue to ask the Lord to send more church planters.  We will also spend more time in prayer and fasting, asking Him to call out larger numbers of sponsor churches for these new planters.  We are asking you to join us as we fall on our knees and ask the Heavenly Father to continue showering us with His blessings.

Again, thank you for your support and may we see more healthy, vibrant, Bible teaching, community reaching churches being planted in all areas of Ohio!
